Exmoor Rotary Club

This meets every week at The Anchor Inn, Exebridge, and does much both for local and international charities.

The Rotary Club of Exmoor is highly involved in many local areas, including raising a substantial sum each year for charities both local and international. They have stands at the Dunster Show, run the Duck Race and Secondhand Books at Bampton Open Day (August), and organise many fatures of Bampton Charter Fair (October). They also run an outing for local senior citizens every September, and they run two charity quiz nights in local pubs in Bampton and Dulverton each year.

At Christmas time, their door-to-door and street collections raise over £1000 for charity, and in the new year they organise a community Sunday Lunch in Bampton which again raises a similar sum for Shelterbox.

Two Exmoor Challenges are run in April and May, the first for adults to raise money by sponorship, and the second for children between the ages of 10 and 18 when over 500 young people have a timed 18 mile demanding walk on the moor.
